John,
Earlier this month, a Trump-appointed, anti-abortion judge in Texas issued
a nationwide ban on Mifepristone, a pill used in medication abortions. But
on Friday, the Supreme Court preserved access to this essential medication
for now while the legal case on Mifepristone's future continues.
We're angry because abortion care—a life-saving and necessary form of
health care—continues to be under a coordinated attack by far-right
extremists.
We're angry because Mifepristone has been deemed safe and effective for
over 20 years, yet the judge used blatant lies about Mifepristone to
justify his decision.
As the case continues to make its way through the courts, it will likely
once again end up in the illegitimate Supreme Court.
We refuse to tolerate a handful of far-right extremists controlling what
decisions we can make with our bodies.
I don't care what one unelected, far-right, anti-abortion judge says. Its
racist, sexist, classist, and ableist ruling won't stop us from accessing
the care we need.
That's why earlier this year, Cori and Senator Tina Smith introduced
legislation that would codify protections for access to abortion
medication so that we can ensure everyone in this country can have access
to abortion care—no matter where they live.
We're not backing down in this fight, but Cori can't do the work
alone, John.

advocating for abortion care? It's going to take all of us working
together to push back against anti-abortion extremists and defend our
rights.

Although access to Mifepristone has not yet changed, we don't want to
downplay what's happening. We're witnessing the most dangerous attacks on
reproductive freedom in our lifetime.
This is what Republicans have been working toward for decades. We knew
they would never stop attacking our bodily autonomy, even after their
illegitimate Court repealed Roe v. Wade last summer.
We won't let the GOP tell us to hide or be ashamed for demanding our right
to reproductive freedom.
That's why Cori spoke publicly for the first time — in a Congressional
hearing — about getting an abortion after she was sexually assaulted at
the age of 17. And although it doesn't get easier to talk about, it's an
important story to share so that we can understand the urgency of this
moment as the GOP heightens their attacks against access to abortion care.
We're going to continue sharing all of our stories and putting our bodies
on the line until reproductive justice is a reality in every corner of our
country. [ [link removed] ]If you want to support this work, chip in $5
or whatever you can so Cori can continue advocating and legislating for
abortion care?
At this moment, we must show up. We must stand up. And we must care for
and support our community. Make no mistake about it, this impacts each and
every single one of us.
It's not over. The landscape keeps changing, but the fight is not over.
In solidarity,
Lynese, Senior Advisor
