Bear sheep in the trees with text, From abandonment to belonging

Dear John,

Celebrating Mother’s Day for anyone who has lost a mom can be difficult.

Bear was a tiny newborn lamb when she lost her mom. She was found completely alone with her umbilical cord still attached in an empty barn near Los Angeles. Denied the chance to nurse from her mother, Bear was in a critical state but survived thanks to our urgent medical attention and dedicated care.

Though she arrived as a lonely lamb, Bear quickly befriended Carlee sheep, a resident rescued from a family who couldn’t care for her. At our California sanctuary, they received the care needed to heal from emotional and physical trauma: medical attention, nourishing food, open space, and companionship.

Transformative care that is only possible thanks to fellow flock members and supporters like you.

As Mother’s Day approaches, many mourn the loss of their mothers and celebrate their chosen families. In honor of families lost, found, and created, will you consider symbolically adopting Bear?

With a one-time $35 gift, you can symbolically adopt Bear and support her life at sanctuary. Your compassionate action will ensure that Bear remains comfortably sheltered, well-fed, and in the company of her beloved flock.

In gratitude, we’ll send you a digital adoption certificate featuring this affectionate sheep (if you visit our sanctuary, she may sidle up for a backscratch). It makes a perfect Mother’s Day card for the mom or mother figure in your life.

Adopt this orphaned sheep for Mother’s Day!
