Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
As I begin another busy week in Washington, I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional district, and our country as a whole.
Stopping the Border Crisis
During last week’s Judiciary Committee meeting, I called out Democrats for spouting fiction about the state of our southern border. Despite their attempts to distract from reality, the American people are fed up with the record-breaking numbers of migrants being released into the country, large quantities of fentanyl poisoning Americans, and the constant undermining of our nation’s sovereignty. While some of my colleagues downplayed or ignored the Biden Administration’s policies responsible for this crisis, I fought until we passed our bill out of the committee.
Mayorkas Lies, People Die
Secretary Mayorkas lied to me last spring about the state of our border. Last week, he tried to cover up his tracks, but my friend and colleague Representative Dan Bishop called him out for his actions. In response, I am asking House leadership to reduce Mayorkas’ salary to zero until he can fulfill his oath to regain operational control of the border. Congress must use the power of the purse to hold bureaucrats accountable for outright refusing to do their jobs.
Read more on my push to defund Mayorkas’ salary here.
Fighting for Fiscal Sanity
Biden is refusing to come to the table to discuss our budget proposals, but his childish antics aren’t going to stop us from sending a fiscally responsible plan to his desk. It’s past time for Washington to get out of the way of the American people’s prosperity.
Protecting Women’s Sports
Last week, Democrats tried to ignore basic biology by pushing for boys to share girls’ locker rooms and for men to dominate women’s athletics. Despite their attempts to push propaganda, Republicans successfully passed the Protection for Women and Girls in Sports Acts.

Passport resources
The State Department is encouraging passport applications and renewals during the off-peak travel season in fall or winter because demand is lower and processing is faster.
Please remember to check your passport expiration date and keep in mind some countries require your passport to be valid for six months after your visit. You can find information on how to apply or renew your passport here.
If you have any concerns that my office can help out with, please don’t hesitate to call or email through the “email me” portal on my website. If you feel so inclined, you can also just send an old-fashioned letter to my Washington or district offices.
If your friends, relatives, or neighbors would also like to sign up for these weekly updates, they can do so by sending my office a quick email or simply by signing up here. For more up-to-the-minute updates, you can follow my press team on Facebook and Twitter.
Sincerely,
Chip Roy
Member of Congress
