Take Action!

Dear Defender of
Wildlife,

Why is this administration leaving millions of migratory birds to die
at the hands of reckless companies?

That's the question this week as a new proposal effectively guts
the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) by claiming that companies are no
longer responsible for the deaths their actions cause "on accident."

Now, companies have no incentive to stop preventable bird deaths
- and as we've already seen, those birds will die.

STAND UP FOR WILDLIFE: Tell the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) not to
gut our nation's most important law for protecting migratory
birds!

The MBTA is responsible for bringing back hundreds of bird species
from the edge of extinction. Without it, many of those birds would
have disappeared.

With millions of birds killed each year from uncovered oil waste pits,
oil spills, power lines and other dangers, the MBTA has been key to
making sure companies take simple steps to cut down on these deaths
- and that when their actions kill birds, they're held
responsible for helping undo the damage.

That's about to change under a controversial new FWS proposal
which lets those companies off the hook for easily preventable bird
killings.

Keep companies accountable for bird deaths: Speak up against gutting
the MBTA!

Companies must continue to be held responsible under the MBTA, as they
were when the catastrophic Deepwater Horizon oil spill killed
millions of birds in the Gulf of Mexico 10 years ago.

We can't let them abandon countless migratory birds to die at
the hands of careless corporations. Help save these birds and end this
senseless proposal right now!

Defender of
Wildlife, if the FWS gets away with
betraying these birds to industrial interests, we'll see
millions more preventable bird deaths - and many of those
species can't take another hit before they disappear altogether.

Stop this betrayal of wildlife before it starts. Add your voice:
Demand that the FWS keeps critical protections for migratory birds!

Don't let these birds die preventable deaths by the millions -
voice your opposition to this senseless change today.

Thank you in advance for acting on behalf of the animals who need us
most.
