Dear John,
On Wednesday, our MPs will yet
again turn their attention to this Government’s failed asylum
policies.
Despite the fact that 76%
of people seeking asylum here are found to have legitimate reasons to
do so, the proposed Illegal Migration Bill will mean
that none of those crossing the Channel will have their cases
heard.
As if this wasn't enough, new rules proposed by a handful of Tory
MPs will give Ministers the power to ignore rulings made by the
European Court of Human Rights.
The last laws this Government passed to tackle boat crossings have
only led to a huge increase in asylum seekers trying to reach our
country across the channel - any MP who's planning to support their
failed policies again must explain themselves to their voters.
Please
write to yours today to see where they stand.
Best wishes,
Naomi Smith
