* Immigration and Justice
* Healthcare, Education and Environment
* Commerce, Labor, Technology and Finance
* Infrastructure and Development

This meeting will replace our standard monthly meeting with a forum that features local Black community leaders. Speakers to be announced.

We will meet at NRECA (4301 Wilson Blvd Arlington, VA) just a short walk from the Ballston metro station.

If registration is full, please add your name and email to the waitlist, and you will be contacted at the email address you provide if space is available.

Getting Started is a 2½ hour session led by trained facilitators to introduce participants to racial literacy, individual vs. systemic racism, impacts of redlining to understand segregation, and white wealth. The main topic of this session is the history of racism in housing. Using local Arlington maps and stories, attendees learn how the Federal Housing Administration's mid-20th century use of redlining to prevent loans to Black people affected a community by locking in segregated housing and influencing housing patterns. Attendees have opportunities for questions, discussion, and reflection. Resources for follow-up reading and discussion are provided.

Please contact [email protected] with any questions!
