John, this is major news! AOC just reintroduced the Green New Deal:

We need a once-in-a-generation mobilization that prioritizes front-line communities, combats the climate crisis, and creates millions of good-paying union jobs. Will you contribute $3 right now to help us enact a Green New Deal?

The Green New Deal will help our economy transition away from fossil fuels and dramatically expand existing renewable power sources with the goal of meeting 100% of national power demand through renewable sources.

The Green New Deal will also provide people across the country with the opportunity, training, and education needed to participate fully and equally in a green economy, offering jobs to help rebuild our crumbling infrastructure. This resolution ensures a just transition for all workers, low-income communities, communities of color, and Indigenous communities who are often most impacted by climate change and the climate crisis.

We need to enact policies that match the scale of the crises we face and the Green New Deal would do exactly that.
