EOG Resources Inc. recognized as 2022 recipient of Game and Fish Industry Wildlife Stewardship Award

CHEYENNE ? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is proud to announce oil and gas operator EOG Resources, Inc. as the 2022 recipient of the Industry Wildlife Stewardship Award. The award honors companies whose primary mission is not wildlife-related, but who choose to make a positive impact through development and improvement for the benefit of fish, wildlife or habitat. Game and Fish Director Brian Nesvik recognized EOG Resources on April 17 during the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission meeting in Casper.

CHEYENNE ? The public is invited to attend the 40th annual Wyoming Game and Fish Conservation Stamp Art Show at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 28. This educational event will be held virtually. This year?s art show features the beaver.


Watercraft changes at LAK Reservoir near Newcastle

LAK

SHERIDAN ? The threat of an introduction of invasive aquatic species into LAK Reservoir near Newcastle is resulting in changes to recreational access at the site.?As of April 1, motorized watercraft (including watercraft with electric motors) are not allowed on LAK Reservoir. Non-motorized watercraft that are hand-launched will still be allowed.? In addition to these watercraft,? the reservoir will remain open to anglers for shore and ice fishing.


Spring is a great time to take hunter education

CHEYENNE ??Big game applications are open, and if you?re thinking about hunting now is a good time to sign up for hunter education. Classes are offered statewide, are scheduled well into June and volunteers are expected to post more in the next few months. To register for hunter education visit the hunter education website.
