John, as reported by multiple outlets, Tucker Carlson has left Fox News.

Here's why that matters:
- Fox News recently had to reach a settlement in the lawsuit against Dominion Voting Machines because of their on-air lies about the 2020 Election.
- While they did not outright claim fault, their settlement stands as evidence that with host testimony, Fox would look ever more unreliable than they already are.
- Hosts that were privately concerned about Trump's rhetoric were publicly stating the opposite, and doubling down on the "big lie." 
- Fox has taken a radical stance on the events of January 6th and has been used as a platform by radical right-wing figures like Marjorie Greene and Jim Jordan. 

And here's why it doesn't: Fox News will continue to be exactly what it is. Fox News is a space for rightwing ideology that embraces homophobia, sexism, racism, and more. And then those stances are repeated by the national Republican party. 

Fox News is beholden to its base audience and fringe-right identity that has manifested into the MAGA cult. That isn't going away anytime soon.
