Then, Summer went on MSNBC this weekend to discuss the need for a Green New Deal for Health. Here's just some of what she had to say:
In communities where we have the greatest need because of our environmental crisis, whether it be illness caused by pollution, poor air quality, asthma, or COPD… this bill would make sure that there are accountability measures when hospitals leave these communities, that workers are able to unionize and get the health care they need, and that our infrastructure in hospitals and medical buildings is sustainable.
It is just one part of the Green New Deal, but an important part.
