With a month to go to the primaries, this week we are focusing on the elections and how you can actively participate in electing legislators that care about California Health Rights.  From AVFCA’s three emails this week you will learn about registration, legislators and how to support campaigns.

There are 100 seats in the California Legislature that are up for election this year, and your vote can make the difference.  A number of these State Senate and Assembly seats that are up for grabs could make a difference in the future of California Health Rights and vaccine choice.  The fate of many of those running who are on our side will be determined in the March 3 primary.  (We will send more xxxxxxrmation out on those hot seats and how you can support candidates in a separate email).

To vote in California, you must be registered, and the deadline to register to vote in the March 3 Primary Election is February 18, 2020!

Check if you are already registered to vote

You can check if you are registered to vote by searching on the CA Voter Status website (https://voterstatus.sos.ca.gov/).  This site not only confirms whether you are registered or not, but will also allow you to check your political party preference, as well as find your polling place or check your vote-by-mail status.

How to apply to vote if you are not registered

Online

You can apply to register to vote right now by filling in the online application (https://registertovote.ca.gov/)

By Mail

If you would like to register using a paper voter registration application, you can pick one up at your county elections office, library, Department of Motor Vehicles offices, or U.S. post office. It is important that your voter registration application be filled out completely and be postmarked or hand-delivered to your county elections office on or before February 18th, 2020.

Don’t delay – register today!
