Hi,
Yes, there’s another Clarence Thomas scandal to add to the growing,
alarming list.
GOP mega-donor Harlan Crow reportedly closed a sweet real estate deal with
Thomas back in 2014, and Thomas never disclosed it. Crow bought three
properties in Georgia from Thomas and his family for $133,363. Then, Crow
spent tens of thousands of dollars to upgrade Thomas’ mother’s home.^1
This comes on the heels of news that, for two decades, Thomas reportedly
accepted luxury trips virtually every year from billionaire Crow without
disclosing them.^2 The undisclosed luxury trips and real estate deal break
the law, according to experts.^3,4 If Congress doesn’t hold Thomas
accountable, no one will — and he’ll serve on the nation’s highest court
for the rest of his life.

It’s unclear if Crow paid the Thomas family above market value for the
properties BUT Crow bought several other properties on the street and paid
significantly less than his deal with the Thomases.^5
When we talk about Clarence Thomas ethics issues, we’re not talking about
minor, isolated incidents. To describe Thomas’s string of behaviors that
likely broke the law, experts and retired judges have used words like
INCOMPREHENSIBLE, HIDING, VIOLATION, and CORRODES PUBLIC TRUST.^6,7
Clarence Thomas doesn’t belong on the Supreme Court. The myriad of ethics
scandals speak for themselves. Including Thomas’ refusal to recuse himself
from cases involving Trump and the 2020 election even after his wife,
Ginni Thomas, was found to have connections with attempts to overturn
election results.^8
The Supreme Court should be free of ethics concerns. And Clarence Thomas
has a mountain of ethics problems surrounding him. It’s time to impeach.
