Last Wednesday, Republicans in the Ohio Senate passed a self-serving measure that will make it even harder for voters to amend Ohio's constitution.

Right now, amendments need just a simple majority to pass in Ohio. But Republicans are trying to rig the rules and raise that threshold to a 60% majority to further their own extremist agendas and sabotage the reproductive rights amendment Democrats are working to introduce this fall.

I want to make one thing clear: Republicans know they're on the wrong side of the issues that are important to working Ohioans. That's why they're doing everything they can to try and stop citizen-led ballot initiatives and uphold their dangerous abortion ban and gerrymandered maps.

Look, while the Ohio GOP has shown us that they're willing and ready to make it harder for Ohioans to make their voices heard at the polls, Ohio Democrats are working around the clock to fight these attacks on Ohio voters and keep power in the hands of the people — not politicians. But we can't do it without your support.

That's why we're asking: Will you chip in $5, or whatever you can, right away to help us fight back and put reproductive rights on the ballot this fall?
