Dear Friend,
Tonight we enter Yom HaZikaron, Israel's Memorial Day. This is a day of sadness as we mourn the 24,213 Israeli soldiers who sacrificed their lives defending the Jewish State of Israel, and the 4,255 victims of Islamic terror.
As Jews, we largely focus on celebrating life. But life includes tragedy and pain. Without our courageous IDF soldiers, we would not be able to enjoy the miracle that is the State of Israel today. We honor their sacrifice and mourn the loss of Israel's fallen soldiers, and to their families:
May the Almighty comfort you among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
On Yom HaZikaron, we also mourn all victims of terrorism in Israel. These attacks are constant; even today, just a few hours ago, Israeli citizens suffered yet another terrorist attack by a Palestinian Arab - a car ramming in Jerusalem. We pray that the six victims recover fully and quickly.
The ZOA does not shy away from the truth: The conflict is an Arab-Islamic war against the Jewish people, and all Jews must acknowledge this uncomfortable reality.
We work every day to expose this truth; in the media, in the government, in courtrooms and on campuses. We have made progress: supporting the Taylor Force Act; leading the charge to expand Title VI of the Civil Rights Act to include Jews; loudly opposing the Iran Deal; urging the U.S. to relocate its embassy to Jerusalem; and more. But there is still so much to accomplish, and we cannot do it without your help. Please join our fight for the Jewish people and against terrorism by donating $360, $180, $50, or whatever you can. Donate at zoa.org/donate today.
