Yup, folks...that's me as a little guy.
I may have been in diapers, but I still whined and cried less than many of the MAGA fanatics in Congress. I had better manners than a lot of them, too.
All jokes aside, a lot has changed about our country since this photo was taken in 1972. Watergate, to start. Wood paneling. Recessions. Oil crises. Rap music. War. The iPhone. A pandemic.
Oh, and of course, back then, Republicans tried to stop environmental destruction, not accelerate it.
Unfortunately, today’s anti-science, fossil-fuel-funded GOP is currently steering us towards a future of fires, floods, extreme temperatures, and severe storms. We can still change course, but we need to act quickly and decisively.
That’s why I’m asking you to join me on the front lines of the struggle against climate change. Will you pitch in $15 or $20 to keep our pro-science coalition in fighting shape?
For all the scary potential of the climate crisis, there’s one thing about America that’s never changed: The entrepreneurial, enterprising, and energetic spirit that helps us confront any challenge.
That’s why I’ve always believed that, though the threat is staggering, we can – and we will – do what’s necessary to build a more sustainable, safe, and prosperous future.
The solution here isn’t easy, but it is simple.
- Mobilize against the science deniers in Washington
- Elect leaders who will stand up to destructive, deceitful mega-polluters
- Put America back at the helm of the global fight against climate change
It’s time to take a page out of America’s own book and rise to the occasion. That’s why I’m asking you to pitch in $15, $20, or whatever you can to fund our urgent fight for climate responsibility.
