Earlier this month, the powerhouse advocacy group MoveOn.org sent out an email alert that caught our attention. The email explained that their monthly donations thus far in 2023 had declined and “donations to progressive organizations are down across the board since President Biden took office.”

The reason the email stood out to us is that this is exactly what we’re seeing at Common Dreams as well. On one hand, we were relieved to see we’re not the only ones experiencing these trends.

On the other hand, it’s a red-alert emergency for this to be happening at the very moment when the Republican Party is doubling down on authoritarianism and white supremacy.
