Dear Press Freedom Supporter,

I'm writing because I wanted to make sure you saw our recent
discussion on the detainment of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan
Gershkovich.

Over the weekend, CPJ's President Jodie Ginsberg participated in a
panel at the International Journalism Festival in Perugia, Italy
alongside Wall Street Journal Editor-in-Chief Emma Tucker and other
colleagues of Evan's at the Journal.

The panel examined the broader context and implications of
Gershkovich's detainment, as well as the growing trend of nations such
as Russia and Iran using high-profile American detainees for
diplomatic leverage.

At CPJ, we will continue to fight for Evan's release as we stand
with all journalists who should be free to report the news. As always,
thank you for your support.

Best,

John D. Weis
Director of Development and Outreach
