Cardinal Health worked with BSR, a global nonprofit, to refine its environmental, social and governance program and has issued its first ESG report, in which CEO Jason Hollar said he is "enormously proud of our employees." The company cut its scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 18% as of the end of the 2022 fiscal year, working toward its goal of reducing scope 1 and 2 emissions by half by 2030.
Sysco is upgrading the electrical vehicle charging capacity at its facility in Riverside, Calif., to accommodate 40 EV trucks and 40 refrigerated trailers at a time. The food distributor will add 2,800 electric trucks to its US fleet of 9,000 by 2030, in line with its goal to reduce carbon emissions by 27.5%.
Port activity dropped year-over-year for March at major US East and West Coast ports, with the ports in Seattle and Tacoma, Wash., experiencing the largest decrease of 37.3%.
