Ways and Means Hearings on Trade and China

China continues to abide by a different set of rules and standards in the global economy. At our Ways and Means Committee hearing on trade and China this week, I highlighted the importance of American leadership on trade as a tool to strengthen our economic competitiveness.

I also spoke at our Ways and Means hearing on about how we can strengthen our competitiveness against China through tax policy.

Addressing violent crime, supporting our police

The crime crisis in Chicago is an embarrassment to the city and our state. Instead of demonizing cops and condoning illegal behavior, elected leadership with the authority to act must hold violent offenders accountable. I joined Bill Hemmer on Fox News this week to discuss rising crime and the importance of backing the blue.

Discussing the importance of protecting classified materials

I joined Meet the Press NOW this week to discuss the classified documents leaks and the importance of protecting our national security. Handling classified information comes with a distinct responsibility to safeguard our country. It's clear there must be reform and legislation I introduced will implement stronger enforcement measures for mishandling classified information.

Meeting with Illinois truckers

Great to visit with the Illinois Trucking Association during their visit to DC. Truckers are vital to our economy and local commerce in central Illinois communities. Proud to advocate for Illinois Truckers in Congress as a supporter of the DRIVE-Safe Act and apprenticeship programs.
