In Knoxville we think globally and act locally. Below is a sample of how my administration is tackling the climate crisis: -
Committed to reduce City of Knoxville carbon emissions 50% by 2030.
- Helped create Knoxville’s first Community Solar project, which enables any KUB customer to buy solar power, even if you do not own your home or cannot afford to install panels on your own roof.
- Increased electrification of all city vehicles including KAT buses.
- Partnered with Trees Knoxville to develop the city’s first urban forest master plan.
- Promoting, designing and constructing walkable neighborhoods.
-
Increasing the number of EV charging stations.
- Strategically utilizing the Inflation Reduction Act to help Knoxville residents and businesses join the fight against climate change and save money.
While I’m proud of our progress, I will double-down on these efforts in my second term to make Knoxville a clean, green, sustainable city – a healthy place for generations to come. Thanks for your work to make Knoxville green!
