It's time to make quality, public education North Carolina's top priority. According to our state constitution, "the people have a right to the privilege of education, and it is the duty of the State to guard and maintain that right." To do that, we must treat our teachers like professionals.
Here’s my Education Agenda:

Support
public
educators’
agenda
to
fully
fund
school
guidance
counselors,
psychologists,
nurses,
social
workers
and
librarians
to
the
national
recommended
level
*
Raise
teacher
pay
with
a
5%
across
the
board
pay
increase
and
commit
to
an
ongoing
effort
to
raise
teacher
pay
in
our
state
*
Ensure
students
and
their
hard
working
parents
-
small
business
owners
and
tradesmen
-
have
access
to
affordable,
quality
healthcare
through
Medicaid
Expansion
*
Fully
restore
pay
increases
for
public
school
employees
with
advanced
degrees
*
Help
ensure
all
school
employees
can
earn
a
living
wage
by
supporting
a
$15
per
hour
minimum
wage
*
Reinstate
retirement
benefits
for
any
educator
who
re-enters
the
classroom
