Friend, 75 million Americans are over the age of 60 — and that number will only grow in the years ahead. But elderly Americans all across the country are struggling to afford housing, food and health care. Right now, Washington is failing seniors.

As a member of the Special Committee on Aging, Kirsten Gillibrand is fighting every day to address this crisis. And now, she's released a new 5-point Master Plan on Aging to help seniors age with dignity. Here's what Kirsten's plan will do:

* Invest in programs to give seniors access to affordable, nutritious food.
* Ensure that seniors can afford high-quality health care by expanding Medicare benefits and lowering prescription drug costs.
* Increase Social Security benefits and fight scammers to make sure that seniors have economic security.
* Create more opportunities for seniors to live in their own homes and access the trained caregivers they need.
* Invest in low-cost, accessible, aging-friendly spaces and jobs so that seniors can lead independent lives.
