Williams Weekly
Dear Texans,
Last week was another busy week in Washington, D.C. addressing your top concerns and the important issues facing our nation. Read below for an update on my work serving you.
Republicans Keep Their Commitment in First 100 Days
For too long, the American people have suffered countless policy failures and an unacceptable lack of transparency under one party Democrat rule. Over the last 100 days, House Republicans have reopened the People’s House, prioritized U.S. energy independence, stood for the unborn, defunded Joe Biden’s IRS army, countered CCP influence, and held the Administration accountable. In Congress, I am committed to putting America first and upholding the deeply rooted values of TX-25. In the last 100 days, I have connected with over 26,000 constituents to answer their questions and address the top concerns facing our district. View the House Republicans press conference here.
Introduced Legislation to Make Trump's "Remain in Mexico" Policy Permanent
Biden’s first action upon taking office was to reverse President Trump's successful ‘Remain in Mexico' policy. As a result, hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants are now being held or released in the United States pending their court date hearing. While Biden ignores the national security crisis spiraling out of control, Republicans are taking action to secure the border and expose Democrats for their failure to enforce the rule of law and keep Americans safe. Received the NAMIC Benjamin Franklin Public Policy Award
I was honored to receive the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies Benjamin Franklin Public Policy Award. I look forward to our continued work together!
Financial Services Committee Hearing
Burdensome government regulations have no place on Main Street. While American small businesses continue to feel the pains of Biden’s failed policies, the Administration refuses to take accountability and is instead pushing towards experimental “solutions”. Biden’s anti-growth green agenda is not an option in an economy where businesses are struggling to stay afloat. We must prioritize the well-being and growth of American businesses and unleash American energy production. Watch the clip here.
Small Business Committee Hearing
When a family member dies, their loved ones have to pay a tax to keep possession of their family assets. This death tax is causing business owners to second guess expanding their operations. Instead of investing money back into business operations or donating to schools and the community, business owners are forced to send their hard earned money back to the federal government. Watch my line of questioning to hear how the death tax is affecting farmers and ranchers in Texas, and across the country.
In God we trust,
Roger Williams
Member of Congress
