This week, House Republicans passed a monumental piece of legislation to secure fundamental women's rights. Across the country, young women, who have often trained for years in a particular sport, are being cheated out of medals and trophies when they are forced to compete against biological males. As a physician, I know there is an absolute competitive advantage that an XY individual - regardless of any hormonal manipulation - has over a genotypic female. That’s why I joined House Republicans in passing the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act. I honestly cannot believe this is an actual issue we are debating in the United States, and the fact that not a single Democrat voted in favor of this bill is a shocking disgrace to women everywhere.
