This week, I joined Speaker McCarthy and my House Republican colleagues in celebrating 100 days of the Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. I am proud of our major wins during our first 100 days. We are passing real solutions to combat President Biden’s self-inflicted crises and delivering RESULTS for the American people.

Lesko Recognizes Amateur Radio Operators

I introduced a bipartisan resolution to designate April 18, 2024, as National Amateur Radio Operators Day to recognize the contributions amateur radio operators have made to our nation. From bringing people together, to providing critical emergency communications during natural disasters, amateur radio has positively impacted our communities. I was proud to introduce this important resolution to honor amateur radio operators and the invaluable services they provide to our great nation.

Lesko Sends Letter to Secretary of Agriculture on Proposed School Meal Standards

I sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack expressing concerns with the Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) proposed rule on long-term school nutrition standards. While we should be promoting healthy eating for kids in school, I am deeply concerned that the Department of Agriculture’s proposed rule is unattainable for schools in my district and across our nation. This proposed rule adds stricter standards, even as schools are struggling to meet current nutrition standards due to the continued supply chain shortages and economic hardships. I am urging the Department of Agriculture to consider these concerns and resist implementing standards that schools simply cannot meet.

Lesko Investigates COVID-19 Origins

It is unacceptable that over one million Americans died from COVID-19, yet House Democrats failed to hold any hearings on COVID-19 last Congress. I asked important questions about conflicts of interest and intelligence on China's role in the COVID-19 pandemic in the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. Watch my remarks below:

GET THE FACTS: House Republicans Stand For Fiscal Responsibility

President Biden and congressional Democrats have gone on one reckless spending spree after another. As a result, our national debt now sits at over $31 trillion. It is no secret that Washington, D.C. has a spending problem, and we cannot continue to put off addressing the debt crisis. House Republicans are stepping up to the plate with the Limit, Save, Grow Act. This legislation responsibly raises the debt limit while providing more than $4.5 trillion in savings to American taxpayers. This legislation only lifts the debt limit through March 31, 2024, or by $1.5 trillion, whichever comes first. The Limit, Save, Grow Act includes a provision to rescind funding for President Biden's army of IRS agents as well as the REINS Act, which increases transparency and accountability in the Federal regulatory process. This critical package also limits federal spending by establishing caps on discretionary spending from Fiscal Years 2024 through 2033, rescinds unused COVID-19 funds made available by the so-called "American Rescue Plan," and prohibits President Biden's unconstitutional student loan debt scheme. The Limit, Save, Grow Act is an important step that protects America from defaulting on our debt while limiting spending for the sake of our great nation and future generations.
