[link removed] [[link removed]] Because of his violent rhetoric and actions on January 6th, Doug Mastriano is likely disqualified from serving in public office.
John, here are just a few examples of Pennsylvania State Senator Doug Mastriano’s inexcusable conduct:

*
In
the
lead-up
to
the
January
6th
insurrection,
Mastriano
was
one
of
former
President
Trump’s
most
important
state
allies
in
his
failed
effort
to
overturn
Pennsylvania’s
presidential
election
results.
*
He
used
violent
rhetoric
around
the
Big
Lie,
even
characterizing
the
demonstrations
leading
up
to
January
6th
as
Republicans
“basically…in
this
deathmatch
with
the
Democrat[ic]
Party.”
*
He
was
involved
in
Trump’s
pressure
campaign
on
the
DOJ
and
other
extra-legal
efforts
to
overturn
the
election,
his
participation
in
which
continued
all
the
way
up
until
January
6th—
when
he
participated
in
the
insurrection.

CREW just published a new report about how the Disqualification Clause likely applies to Doug Mastriano. That means there’s a strong case he should be expelled from office. → [[link removed]]

While January 6th was an unprecedented attack on our democracy, it is not the first time our country has had to reckon with elected leaders who tried to overthrow the government. After the Civil War, too, our democracy had to protect itself from people who staged a rebellion against it. That’s when the country ratified Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, or the Disqualification Clause.

There are serious challenges facing our democracy—but we have a few key tools to hold the line. One of them is the Constitution. Help CREW hold apparent insurrectionists accountable by making a donation to support our work today → [[link removed]]

CREW has used the Disqualification Clause before to remove insurrectionists from office. We know that if Mastriano is investigated, and proven to have been involved in the insurrection, that we can hold him accountable. But we need the resources for the fight ahead.

Make a donation to CREW today to help us hold insurrectionists accountable and to defend our democracy → [[link removed]]
