Hey folks,
Jon’s wife Sharla here. We’ve been getting more rain and snow on the farm this week, so I’ve been busy in the kitchen and just took some poppy seed bread out of the oven. It’s one of my family's favorite recipes!

All this time in the house has me thinking about Jon and how we live our lives out here in rural Montana. Everything we do is deeply rooted in the land we farm.
There’s a little piece of paper filed in our county courthouse that says Jon and I own the land our farm sits on.
But in reality, we don’t own the land, the Good Lord does . We’re just stewards. And as stewards of the land, we gotta make sure we take care of it.
When you really think about it, folks, we’re all stewards of this planet, and we must do everything we can to protect and preserve it — not just for ourselves but for future generations.
This Earth Day, can you join me in supporting action to protect a cleaner and more prosperous planet for future generations? [[link removed]]

We can’t take the clean air and water we rely on for granted. As farmers, our livelihood is at stake, and with extreme weather events and wildfires becoming increasingly frequent, making ends meet is a real challenge for family farmers across the country.
But something Jon’s service to Montana has taught me about all of this is that no matter where you live, we can all do something to make our planet a better place for our grandchildren’s grandchildren.
So as you’re reflecting on what today means for you, be sure to ask yourself how you can act as good stewards. I know I am.
Thanks for reading today.
— Sharla
