When I was no older than 12…

Frank Mrvan for Congress

Dear John — In a few moments, I’m going to ask you to chip in toward my re-election campaign’s April fundraising goal. But first, please let me explain why continuing my work in Congress is so important.

My dad served in the Indiana General Assembly for over 40 years, and I grew up watching him dedicate his life to the people of Northwest Indiana.

I’ll never forget my first political memory. During one of his tougher campaigns when I was no older than 12, I remember proudly going door to door with him to drop literature and hear about the impact a committed public servant could have on our community.

My dad instilled in me the value of our democracy and the importance of consistently focusing on the needs of the people, and I still remember how proud I was to join him and my mom at St. Catherine of Siena in Hessville in 1988 to cast my ballot for him.

From my time as North Township Trustee to my tenure in Congress, I have always worked to get things done for Northwest Indiana — from investing in our infrastructure and steel industry to reducing costs for working families.

But Republican groups like the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) are determined to unseat me. Already, the NRCC has aired ads attacking me and named me one of the GOP’s top targets. The attacks are only going to ramp up from here.

I’m hoping you’ll help me respond and stay in Congress to keep up my work for Indiana’s First District. Ahead of our campaign’s April fundraising deadline, can you chip in any amount?
