Hi John,

Happy Earth Day! Today, we celebrate our planet and recommit to protecting it for future generations. But we can't just talk about it — we must take bold action to address the climate crisis.

That's why I'm proud to have earned the endorsement of climate organizations like Sierra Club, Sunrise Movement, Food and Water Action, and the Jane Fonda Climate PAC. As the only candidate championing a Green New Deal for Philadelphia, I'm committed to taking on the fossil fuel industry and leading a strong agenda for environmental justice.

Our city faces a critical moment to transition away from fossil fuels and build a just, green, and sustainable city for all. As Mayor, I will work to ensure that our local government meets its commitment to a net-zero energy footprint and I’ll bring our private sector along too.

I’ll approach the climate crisis and its harmful manifestations not as a side project, but as an integral part of addressing decades of disinvestment and systemic inequality in our city.

Will you join me in building a healthier, greener, livable Philadelphia? Your contribution of $5, $15, $25, or whatever you can give will help us power our campaign and make our climate vision a reality.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your contribution will go through immediately:

My administration will modernize public transit, stabilize and retrofit aging homes, green and cool neighborhoods, and transform our public schools into safe, sustainable community anchors through a Green New Deal for Philadelphia schools.

This will not only provide children and educators with the facilities they deserve but also engage the entire city in a real facilities planning process to revitalize neighborhood schools instead of closing them. By doing so, we'll create family-sustaining, union jobs and place Philadelphia students into a pipeline of opportunity.

We can’t wait for action at the state and federal levels on the climate crisis. Cities like Philadelphia must lead the way on building a green, healthy, and livable environment for this generation and generations to come.

Thank you,
Helen
