Today kicks off National Park Week, folks!

I hope you get the opportunity to visit a national park today — especially since entry is free!

Here in New Mexico, we treasure our two national parks, Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands National Parks. Back in 2019, I even helped White Sands get designated as a national park to boost the local economy and ensure its spectacular views and beautiful sandscapes get the attention (and protection) they deserve.

Our national parks are beloved by so many folks in New Mexico and across the country. From helping pass the Great American Outdoors Act into law to repair and protect our national parks to introducing the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act to preserve our parks’ wildlife and plant species, I will always fight in the Senate to keep our parks around for future generations.

I’d love to hear what our national parks mean to you. Before you head out to enjoy the outdoors, could you answer my National Park Survey?

Thank you — now go out and enjoy one (or more) of our national treasures!

— Martin
