In St. Louis, there are clear signs of how people, especially Black and brown people, are hurting because of a lack of local funding and government support for climate action and environmental protection. Our children are making more and more trips to the emergency room for asthma attacks and extreme temperatures are driving up electric bills.
This is a crisis of great magnitude, and we can't wait any longer for empty legislation: We need bold solutions. That's why Cori worked to secure the passage of the Environmental Justice Mapping and Data Collection Act last year. And it’s why she’s a bold advocate of a Green New Deal and a Green New Deal for Cities — a policy that would enable community-based environmental policies.
