Happy Earth Day, John!

As we celebrate our home and stress the importance of environmental protections, we wanted to reflect on the groundbreaking progress Shontel and Democrats in Congress have made in the fight against climate change.

In 2022, Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act, making America’s largest investment in history to combat climate change. With nearly $400 billion in funding toward clean energy, we’ll see lower energy costs for families, accelerated growth in clean energy solutions, and a significant reduction in our emissions. And, John, just yesterday, President Biden announced his plan to establish the Office of Environmental Justice, spearheading the revitalization of communities that have faced environmental injustice through racial discrimination for too long. 

But while we commend these historic investments in our climate reality, the GOP is pushing to undermine our progress. In their campaign to roll back regulations, the GOP is chipping away at critical portions of the Inflation Reduction Act.

That’s why we’re calling on you, John, to send the GOP a strong message that we won’t let them continue destroying our environment and letting our people suffer along the way. Will you sign Shontel’s petition demanding the GOP end their assault on climate change initiatives to ensure our planet is protected and environmental justice is served?
