Africa & Europe
Praise God for a conference called "Common Challenges and New perspectives in Fighting Trafficking in Persons." The Government of Romania, through the Department for Community Social Responsibility and Vulnerable Groups, the Senate of Romania and the International Justice Mission organized the international conference to analyze the challenges and specific measures taken at the European level to combat the risks related to cross-border and national human trafficking, as well as among displaced population from Ukraine.
Latin America
Praise God for 13 convictions obtained by IJM-trained pro bono volunteers in Bolivia during the first three months of this year! God granted justice to 12 survivors of sexual violence, physical violence, intimate partner violence and attempted femicide. Now that these aggressors have been held accountable, they don’t continue to pose a threat to others. Please pray that God brings a closure of this difficult chapter in the heart of each survivor and that He will sustain them and their families throughout their path to healing.
South Asia
Please pray for the health of one of our long-term employees in South Asia. He has given nearly two decades to the fight against human trafficking, and today is fighting against cancer. Please pray for his swift healing and for God’s love to overwhelm his family.
Asia Pacific
Please pray for our staff in the Asia Pacific region who are on the frontlines of understanding a new crime known as cyber-scamming. Cyber-scam slavery has become a severe problem in Asia and across the world. Thousands of people have been lured by social media ads promising high-paying jobs in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines, which later turn out to be work conducting online scams, targeting victims worldwide with bogus romance or investment opportunities. Join us in prayer for our teams as they begin to fight this heinous crime.
