Dear John,
Before jumping into our roundup, I'd like to address a heartbreaking incident
that has deeply affected Minnesotans everywhere. Last Saturday, Deputy Josh
Owen from the Pope County Sheriff's Department was tragically shot and killed
while performing his duties, on his 44th birthday. This is a devastating
reminder that our men and women in law enforcement put their communities above
all else every single day. I am praying for Josh Owen’s family and for the
whole Pope County community as they mourn the loss of a local hero.

While we continue to mourn the loss of Deputy Josh Owen, let's take a moment
to remember his selfless service to the community.
With the first 100 days of this new Congress now behind us, I’d like to
highlight the major victories Republicans have delivered for the American
people:
* Passed the Lower Energy Costs Act with bipartisan support for domestic
energy exploration, development, and production.
* Passed and enacted legislation that reversed changes to D.C.’s criminal
code which would have reduced penalties for violent criminals.
* Passed the Rein in Inflation Act which would put a price tag on the
president’s inflation-driving executive orders.
* Passed the Freedom for Healthcare Workers Act which would repeal the
COVID-19 vaccine mandate for healthcare workers.
* Passed and enacted a resolution ending the COVID-19 national emergency.
* Passed the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act that would require
practitioners to provide immediate medical care to babies in the event of a
failed abortion.
* Passed the Protecting America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve from China Act
that would prohibit the sale and export of crude oil reserves to China.
* Passed the Parental Bill of Rights Act that would give parents the right to
review school curricula, meet with teachers at least twice a year, and have
access to their child’s school library.
Republicans made a Commitment to America, and we are following through. While
I am pleased with our success so far, there is much more to do. I look forward
to rolling up my sleeves and delivering for the American people.
As always, please contact my office if there is anything we can help with.
Thank you for your continued support!
With gratitude,
Michelle Fischbach
