Dear john,

On Monday night, I took to the floor of the House of Representatives to speak out against the frightening assault on democracy which recently took place in the Tennessee State Legislature. Our children are being murdered in their classrooms, and rather than work on solutions to prevent these senseless tragedies, Tennessee lawmakers opted to expel their colleagues who are fighting for change. We cannot look away. We must continue our efforts to make good on the promise we must fulfill for America's children: a better and safer America is possible, if only we have the courage to act. This week, I was pleased to welcome the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce to my Washington office during their annual fly-in. The Gwinnett Chamber does so much to support local business and economic development in our community, and it was a treat to spend time with them and share some updates from Capitol Hill. My office is always open to Seventh District constituents--if you are ever in Washington, please stop by!

On Friday morning, I was honored to join Georgia Conservation Voters, the Chattahoochee Riverkeepers, Climate Power, Environment Georgia, Sierra Club Georgia, and Sustainable Gwinnett for an Earth Day event to celebrate federal investments in our clean environment future. Georgia voters were the catalyst to helping deliver some of the most significant climate action in history and ensure that our state has the opportunity to protect our planet for future generations. As we celebrate Earth Day this weekend, I encourage you to enjoy the beauty of our home and think of ways you and your family can take advantage of opportunities to be good stewards of our natural environment.

This weekend, I will join my friend and colleague Senator Jon Ossoff and fellow House members for Georgia's 2023 Service Academy Day. Last month, I shared registration information for this exciting opportunity for students and their families to learn more about the congressional nomination process to attend a U.S. military service academy. My application portal for the class of 2028 is now open, and I look forward to seeing you if you are attending this exciting event! For more information about the congressional nomination process, please visit mcbath.house.gov/military-academy-nominations.

Thank you for taking the time to read this update. It is my honor to serve our community in Congress. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with my office.
