My name is Dr. Sarah Myhre, and I'm a printmaker, climate scientist, and organizer in Washington.

Like many of you, I struggle with the enormity and urgency of the climate crisis. We live in a vulnerable time where so much is at stake, and we all must reckon with the crisis in our own way.

As a scientist, I believe in evidence-based solutions. As a mom, I believe in doing all that we can to protect the future. And as a printmaker, I've found that creative work helps me bear witness and make meaning from the climate crisis, through expressions of love, grief, and interconnection.

Earth Day is often co-opted by corporations, eager to greenwash their public image and convince us they are part of the solution. However, the real solutions that I see are the ones that accelerate the transition to a thriving, just, and inclusive clean energy future—the work that is at the heart of Evergreen's mission.

That's why I'm partnering with Evergreen today to offer the first 50 people who donate a one-of-a-kind signed block print titled "We are still here."

This piece is special to me because it depicts the northern Spotted Owl in a Douglas fir tree, and represents a bittersweet and narrow win for the environmental movement to protect old-growth forests in my home state of Washington (where Evergreen was founded).

This "win" ultimately came at the expense of working-class people, and it reminds me how we must not separate people from the planet we are working to protect if we want to enact meaningful change. This original print is a reminder, and a prayer, that the world is waiting for us to do the right thing; we are so close.
