$787.5 million - that’s how much FOX News agreed to pay Dominion Voting Systems for lying about the 2020 election being stolen from Donald Trump.

Personally, I don’t think it was enough and the fact that FOX News doesn’t even have to put out an apology is pretty frustrating. But the settlement itself is proof that the American people are being lied to by one of the biggest news networks in the country. FOX hosts and executives even admitted they knew these claims were false.

Here’s why I think this is such a big deal: Misinformation is running rampant throughout our country and it’s a genuine threat to our democracy. I know this firsthand - Republican groups intentionally spread misinformation in my race. It’s incredibly hard to track misinformation online, especially if it’s in Spanish.

FOX News blatantly spread lies to millions of people, and that has real consequences for not just the upcoming presidential race, but all the races down ballot like mine.

That’s why I’m coming to you for support today. With your help, we can push back against the GOP misinformation and stop their lies from infecting our country. The only way we can protect our democracy from their lies is by pushing back hard with facts.
