Congressman Al Green Secures $259,508 in Federal Funding for
the City of Stafford, Texas to Help Save Lives

(Houston, TX) — On Friday, April 21, 2023, Congressman Al Green presented a symbolic check in the amount of $259,508 to the City of Stafford for the Stafford Emergency Operations Center to help save lives.  

This funding will be used to modernize the Stafford Emergency Operations Center by replacing analog technology with digital technology. This will create a more efficient and effective workspace to gather information, coordinate resources, as well as guide emergency operations.  

Mayor Cecil Willis stated: “On behalf of the City of Stafford and our citizens, I want to express my gratitude to Congressman Green for his assistance in acquiring this grant. Congressman Green holds a special place in our community as he has always supported us in serving our community. These funds will allow us to remodel our Emergency Operations Center into a state-of-the-art facility, for us to better serve our citizens.”
