Big news, John —
Washington Republicans failed to pass a national abortion ban. We beat their anti-abortion candidates and legislation at the ballot box in state elections. So the far-right tried to weaponize our broken legal system to ban medication abortion everywhere.
And for the moment, we’ve defeated them again in the courts.
The Supreme Court just stayed all lower court orders restricting the abortion pill mifepristone as the anti-abortion challenge to the medication works its way through appeals.
Mifepristone is still safe, effective, and AVAILABLE for the time being. This is a win that only happened because we showed up and spoke out. We made it impossible for the Court to uphold this latest far-right attack on our reproductive freedom.
But we know that our fight is NOT over and that anti-abortion radicals WILL NOT REST. They will go to any lengths to ban abortion everywhere… so we have to be equally prepared to defeat them.
