Dear John, Senate Joint Resolution 33 was just introduced this week and is already slated to have a public hearing on Tuesday, April 25. Can you make it to the Capitol? We need to testify to the dangers of this reckless legislation. SJR 33 seeks to amend the Oregon State Constitution to include abortion as a right. That would enshrine state-funded abortion for any reason up to the moment of birth in our state constitution. This is already the policy in Oregon, even though only a third of Oregonians support it. SJR 33 is a blatant move to scratch the backs of pro-abortion legislators’ cronies. We need to shout our opposition to SJR 33, and the best way to do that is by showing up and speaking out. The hearing will be in Hearing Room C at the Oregon State Capitol on Tuesday at 3 PM. Our staff will be present to show you where to go. If you cannot attend, you can use these instructions we've put together to submit written testimony before the hearing. You can also email members of the Senate Rules Committee and urge them to oppose SJR 33. Let them know that Oregonians oppose forcing late-term abortion into the state constitution! Because everyone deserves an advocate, Justin Hageman |
