Dear Believers, Friends, and Fellow Students,
Eid Mubarak! We have come to the close of the Holy Month of Ramadan. We pray that your journey through the Holy Quran and the enlightening course, Self-Improvement: The Basis for Community Development, has rejuvenated and inspired you. May Allah continue to bless you and allow you to grow nearer to Him.
This week we will return to our regular scheduled time, 7:30pm CDT and with Allah's permission we will continue our study session with Study Guide 20: Closing The Gap Part I. We will be moving to question 4 found on page 4.
Reflect on the following words of The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and continue to engage in the study.
“This “meat” (Self–Improvement Course) needs to be thoroughly chewed. It begins with our taking of material into the mind and using all that we know and all of our life experience to break it down. By adopting the aforementioned process and then placing this guide in study groups, each one of us taking our turn at exposing our thoughts on the subject matter, this is “group chewing” which aids in “group digestion” of the material.”

This week we will complete question 3, if necessary, and focus on question 4:
- 3. In what way do you feel the leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan has been of benefit to you? In what way do you feel you have been of help to the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan in carrying out his Mission?
- 4. Do you think the Nation of Islam (in form or focus) has changed since you first came in contact with the Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad? If so, how has it changed? How has that change affected you?
Let us approach this discussion with humility, sincerity, and a willingness to improve ourselves and our communities. We pray that you will continue to implement the good habits and practices that you have adopted during the past 30 days.
