This Earth Day, we’re looking towards the future and how we move forward.

HiJohn,

We’re almost to Earth Day, and we can already predict what bullshit we’re going to hear.

The biggest climate crisis contributors  are going to parade their Earth Day posts and videos showing how much they ~care~ about our environment. But we know their plan — they’re going to greenwash the hell out of us and try to frame the climate crisis as an issue of individual responsibility.

F*ck that.

Corporations like Exxon have known the harmful effects of fossil fuels, including their role in climate change, since 1977 — and they choose time and time again to further their own profits over working people and our environment.

So where do we go from here? First, take a moment to watch our newest video on Twitter:

This Earth Day, we’re organizing our communities to close the book on Big Oil + Fossil Fuels once and for all.

This is an all out battle of communities vs. corporations, profits vs. people, and a liveable future vs. catastrophe. Since the 70s corporations have had their way, using their money and influence to block climate policy and buy out politicians.

That ends now.

Our generation isn’t going to take this anymore, and at Sunrise we’re planting the seeds for the future we not only want but NEED. We’re fighting day in and day out for a Green New Deal, climate justice, good paying union jobs, safe schools, and more.

Our programs like Sunrise Summer Camp, Green New Deal for Schools, Green New Deal for Communities, and our GND Futures: Black and Latine Organizing Fellowship are critical to that mission.

Every day is Earth Day for our movement, and we don’t have time to waste. Can you make a donation of $5 or more to our movement right now to support our wide array of programs training the next generation of climate activists and leaders?
