Upcoming telephone town hall with the Chairman of Veterans' Affairs Committtee Irving, TX – On Monday, we reached the 100th day of our House Republican Majority. In our first 100 days, we reopened the People's House to the public, voted to repeal 87,000 new IRS agents, and passed 59 bills -- three of which have been signed into law. We've made good progress, but still have much to do. In the next 100 days, I will continue to work to rein in inflation, lower taxes, and unleash American energy. On Tuesday, I joined the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade for a hearing on countering China's aggressive trade agenda. As I saw firsthand on my recent trip to Latin America, China is attempting to gain a foothold in our hemisphere, which we must not allow. I also participated in a Small Business Committee hearing on how tax hikes are hurting our entrepreneurs. We heard from a variety of witnesses, including the President of the Texas Farm Bureau. Wednesday was another busy day of committee work and constituent meetings. I led a Small Business Oversight Subcommittee hearing with the Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Inspector General. This hearing was an important step in our investigation into the mismanagement, waste, and fraud perpetrated by the SBA. I joined my Ways and Means Committee colleagues for a hearing on green corporate handouts and the Chinese Communist Party. This week, we also voted to advance bipartisan legislation to reverse the White House’s misguided decision to remove tariffs on Chinese solar products. On Thursday, I voted to protect the rights of women and girls in sports. Watch my remarks at a recent press conference here: [link removed]. I enjoyed meeting with students from Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville! Thanks for visiting our D.C. office and for your interest in learning more about our federal government. My colleagues and I are prioritizing the needs of our small businesses and their employees. I’m working to hold the Small Business Administration accountable for the rampant fraud and mismanagement we’ve seen from the agency.
