In this week's roundup: 100 days of our Republican House majority, our second Agriculture Advisory Board meeting, and my work to authorize E-15 sales this summer. Dear Friend, In this week's roundup: 100 days of our Republican House majority, our second Agriculture Advisory Board meeting, and my work to authorize E-15 sales this summer. That and more – remember to follow my Facebook page by clicking here and my Twitter page by clicking here to stay up-to-date throughout the week! RECOGNIZING 100 DAYS OF THE REPUBLICAN HOUSE MAJORITY Monday marked 100 days of our Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. In our Commitment to America, we pledged that we would deliver results for the American people and hold the Biden Administration accountable for their wasteful agenda. While we've achieved many of our goals in a few short months, our work is far from over! MY SECOND AGRICULTURE ADVISORY BOARD MEETING Yesterday, I held my second Agriculture Advisory Board meeting with House Agriculture Committee Chairman GT Thompson from Pennsylvania. We had a great discussion with my board about our priorities for the Farm Bill and other issues facing Iowa agriculture like WOTUS and foreign animal disease. I will continue to work to ensure that Iowa has a strong voice in the Farm Bill. MY LEGISLATION TO BAN CHINA FROM BUYING AMERICAN FARMLAND Last month, I voted for the Lower Energy Costs Act to unleash American energy production and lower gas prices for our families. This legislation also included my amendment -- the Defend America's Rural Energy Act -- which prohibits China from buying American farmland suitable for ethanol and biodiesel production. In Congress, I will always protect our farmers from foreign land grabs because American farmland belongs to American farmers. Iowa Fourth District Representative Randy Feenstra Helps ... I appreciate their work to support our families and power our communities. AMES IN WASHINGTON, D.C. The Ames Chamber of Commerce is a strong advocate for our main streets and small businesses in Ames and greater Story County. It was my pleasure to welcome them to our nation’s capital to discuss the upcoming Farm Bill and economic development initiatives in the 4th District. MY WORK TO AUTHORIZE E-15 SALES THIS SUMMER The Biden Administration needs to stop dragging its feet and finally approve E-15 sales for this summer. Without this simple waiver, American families will face higher prices at the pump and fewer dollars in their pockets. The choice is clear. WELCOMING THE GREATER FORT DODGE GROWTH ALLIANCE TO D.C. I enjoyed having folks from the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance in my office on Tuesday to discuss economic and community development initiatives in Fort Dodge and greater Webster County. I will always be a strong voice for our main streets and rural communities. ADVOCATING FOR OUR SENIORS I had a productive conversation with LeadingAge about the challenges currently facing long-term care providers. In Congress, I’ll always be a strong voice for our seniors, including protecting Social Security and Medicare and making healthcare services affordable and accessible in rural Iowa. MEETING WITH 4-H STUDENTS This week, I had a great time talking with 4-H students from across Iowa about their career aspirations, interests, and studies. Our young people are the next generation of leaders, and I will continue to advocate for policies that help them succeed in the classroom and in the workforce. Regrettably, the progress we’ve made the last five decades could all be reversed if President Biden has his way. Earlier this month, the Biden Administration proposed a new rule through the Department of Education that would expand the scope of Title IX, allowing transgender athletes to compete against biological women and girls.
