Voting for a landmark climate bill last year remains one of my proudest achievements in Congress. House Republicans have made it clear since the day they took the majority that they want to roll this law back — and this week, they considered whether to make reduced climate funding part of their demands on the debt ceiling.

I'm a mother of two, and I owe it to my kids to protect our planet for them and for future generations. We can spare no effort when it comes to making the world a cleaner and more livable place.
We must continue to reduce dangerous emissions, invest further in clean and renewable energy, and further expand public transit. For my entire political career, I've fought for these policies — and I'm not about to let MAGA Republicans turn back the critical progress we made last year.
