Spring is in the air! Below we are spotlighting how easy it is to apply for a marriage license at the Macomb County Clerk's Office.? Our online marriage form makes it simple for applicants to enter the correct information, and the system will have their wedding application waiting for them when they visit our Vital Records Department.

Make sure to check out our other features below, including our customer service feedback video, information about the upcoming May 2 Election, and staff spotlights.

Last month,?I visited Mrs. Wochaski?s second-grade class at Cherokee Elementary in Clinton Township to help celebrate National Reading Month during March. I read my favorite book, ?Tooth Trouble,? by Jane Clarke. Each year, I hand out tooth brushes to all the students to teach them the importance of Dental Health. What a great group of children, and special thanks to Mrs. Wochaski!

"Springtime Means Wedding Season for Macomb County Clerk's Office"

Wedding

Now that it is officially Spring, the Macomb County Clerk's Office will see a considerable jump in marriage applications.

Macomb County Clerk Anthony G. Forlini has made it easy for prospective wedding couples to fill out and file their marriage applications. Clerk Forlini encourages all applicants to use the convenient on-line form to enter all their information before they visit the Clerk's Office. This will save time and ensure that all the required info is submitted.

When applying in Macomb County, at least one applicant needs to be a Macomb County resident with proof of residency (current driver's license or State ID). After the online form is submitted, couples can then make an appointment to visit the Clerk's office by clicking on this link.

During the appointment, only one applicant needs to be present (but that applicant must be a Macomb County resident). A completed affidavit will be waiting for the applicants, and the affidavit will be notarized at that time. Then payment can be made and the couple will receive two copies of their marriage license.

A couple of tips: Applicants must make sure they apply 33 days or less before their wedding date. There is a three-day waiting period from date of application, but applicants can waive the three-day waiting period by paying a $10 waiver fee. Also, when filling out the online application, it is best to have copies of the applicants' birth records to help identify required information (like birthplaces of parents).

Clerk's Office Feedback

It's so nice to be appreciated not based on a political opinion, but rather based on high quality of service that is not all that common for a government institution.
