John,
Today is Earth Day, and I’m thinking about our country’s beautiful national parks.
Throughout my time in public office, I have aimed to protect and enhance America’s national parks. National parks are our heritage, and they provide economic, cultural, and social benefits to all Americans.
However, our national parks are at risk. All credible science confirms that our planet’s climate is warming. In fact, the global temperature is quickly approaching a level wholly unknown to human beings throughout the course of recorded history, putting our national parks at great risk.
Protecting the health and the survival of the planet is a moral concern. As a member of the Appropriations Committee and of the National Parks Caucus, I will continue advocating for the wellbeing of our national parks, including with adequate funding to preserve and protect them.
John, in honor of Earth Day, will you join my fight to protect our country’s beautiful national parks?
Thank you,
Congressman Sanford Bishop
