This Monday officially marked 100 days of the new House Republican majority – a monumental milestone that comes with real, measurable progress. As you have seen in my previous newsletters, House Republicans have hit the ground running to fulfill our Commitment to America. We continue to work diligently to ensure an economy that’s strong, a nation that’s safe, a future that’s built on freedom and a government that’s accountable. As you will see by the many achievements that we have made thus far, we are honoring our commitment to you.
In these first 100 days, our House Republican majority passed a total of 59 bills which include the Parents Bill of Rights Act, the Lower Energy Costs Act, the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act, and the Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act to name a few. We have held the Biden administration accountable by requiring administration officials to testify before Congress more than 235 times on a wide range of issues. Thus far, 500 oversight letters have been sent and 34 subpoenas have been issued as well. We have also established a modern-day record of 42 committee hearings being held on a single day.
That’s not all. In addition, House Republicans have:
- Eliminated the Military Vaccine Mandate.
- Terminated the COVID-19 national emergency.
- Ended proxy voting.
- Re-opened the People’s House.
- Established the bipartisan Select Committee on China.
There’s still work to be done, from restoring fiscal sanity in Washington to defending the men and women of law enforcement from radical, anti-police proposals that are driven by members of the far Left. House Republicans are not kicking up our heels and taking time to pat ourselves on the back – the American people demand action. As Speaker McCarthy said earlier this week, “We will not rest until America’s economy is healthier, our country is stronger, and our children’s future is brighter." Here’s to another 100 days of delivering on the priorities of the American people.
Protecting Women’s Sports
This week, the House passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023, legislation that helps maintain a fair playing field for women and girls by ensuring that school athletics comply with the intent of Title IX to protect individuals from sex discrimination based on the person's reproductive biology and genetics at birth. Further, it ensures that biological females compete only against other biological females in women's sports sponsored by entities receiving federal education funding. Biological males have no place in women’s sports. Period.

Time For Answers
On Wednesday, I sent a letter to Acting Secretary Julie Su of the Department of Labor requesting that she testifies before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce and fulfill her obligation to be accountable to the American people. Here is a short excerpt of my letter:
“Oversight of DOL and your management of the agency is critically needed. Not only are you seeking to be the next Secretary of Labor, but you have also held a senior leadership role at the Department since July 2021. During that time, DOL has pursued a destructive agenda that stifled economic growth with more regulations and red tape, produced fewer results for workers and employers, and ballooned costs at the expense of the American taxpayer.”
