This month, the Biden Administration announced that DACA recipients can now obtain health care under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Medicaid! This is a welcome victory that would allow thousands of DACA recipients to:
- Purchase coverage via the ACA marketplace.
- Access government-funded health insurance.
As a result, this decision will not only expand health care access to a significant portion of the uninsured population but will also save lives.
This is especially welcome news for undocumented communities and families who often delay or forgo essential health care because of the limited access to coverage options.
