We just completed the holy month of Ramadan, a time to reflect, grow, and help those in need.

As we step into today celebrating with our loved ones, I wanted to take the time to reflect on the accomplishments of Muslim candidates. Across the nation last year, progressive Muslim leaders made their voices heard and were elected up and down the ballot. We proved the strength not just of grassroots leadership, but of representative leadership. We proved we belong in these roles.

I’m proud to be a part of this journey by fighting everyday for Durhamites, and leading the movement to uplift underrepresented communities. But it’s crucial our efforts don’t stop here and I’m counting on you, John.
